August 26, 2017 “Our Place in the March”

KBAC announces “Our Place in the March”, a tribute to the 54th  Anniversary of the Historic March on Washington, D.C. when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his historic “I Have A Dream” speech.

DATE: Saturday August 26, 2017

TIME: 10:00pm-2:00pm

PLACE: Burlington Green Park,

West Meeker & Railroad Ave. N

              Kent, Washington

(AT THE GAZEBO, ADJACENT TO THE KING COUNTY LIBRARY, ACROSS THE RAILROAD)

This is another time for our community to come together. LET’S TALK about the changes that need to be made right here in Kent, to make life better for all, and DO something to make the change happen!

The program will include a replay of Dr. King’s speech, voter’s registration and voter education, speakers and music. The speakers will include community leaders. KBAC is sponsoring and hosting the event. We will have light refreshments and it is family friendly. It is a time of empowerment and a chance for your voice to be heard!

As policing and community relations are at the forefront of our local and national conversations, this is another excellent opportunity for the community to come together to achieve equal protection under the law, with fairness and justice for all.

Given the recent events in our country, most significantly the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Kent Black Action Commission has expanded the program of events to include “Let’s Stand in Solidarity” and pledge against hate as we address our current state as a Nation.

Please, visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KentBlackActionCommission/  or contact: Richard Johnson, 253-631-7944; Gwen Allen-Carston, 253-486-9029. Please remember to mark your calendars and be a part of this event.

Come one come all and let’s continue the dream!
