Announces: the Charles Rolland 2017 African American Legislative Day

DATE: Monday February 20, 2017

TIME: 9:00pm-3:00pm

PLACE: Washington State Capital, Olympia, WA

In honor of Black History month the Kent Black Action Commission (KBAC) is once again partnering with the A. Phillip Randolph Institute, Seattle Chapter and the Washington State Christian Coalition to host the” Charles Rolland 2017 African American Legislative Day”.  In conjunction with the Kent School District, who will provide the transportation, students will be transported to the State Capital in Olympia for a day of exposure to our state’s legislative process and to many of our legislators first hand. Parent permission slips are required for all students. Students who want to ride down with us will need to be at Kent Meridian High School by 7:30am, to depart at 8:00am on February 20, 2017. This will be the only pick/drop-off point for this year’s event.  A light breakfast and lunch will be prepared for all who attend, and participate in the day’s activities. We expect to return by 4:00pm, no later than 4:30, barring traffic issues.
