About Us

WELCOME TO KENT BLACK ACTION COMMISSION

Kent Black Action Commission is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization incorporated in Washington State.

Kent Black Action Commission was born out of a need to have a forum for the African American Community to come together on issues that affect our community.  Whether that need concerns education, community resources, the job market, politics, health, or social interests, KBAC is the place to be.

We are dedicated to sharing interests, issues, community concerns, activities, events and call to action the solutions which make all of our lives better.

DIVERSITY

Although our focus is primarily on issues that affect the Black Community, we invite everyone to come and see what KBAC is about and participate in its activities.  Our membership boasts of people of diverse cultural, religious, economic, and educational backgrounds all with a common interest of enhancing our life in South King County.

BUILDING A COMMUNITY

Building a sense of community amongst African Americans in South King County is an important aspect of KBAC.  With programs like our annual Juneteenth Celebration, Youth Leadership Project, the KBAC Newsletter, and more, we establish important lines of communication within that community and provide visibility to the issues and concerns of our members as well as valuable resources available.  We want YOU to be a part of our community.

KBAC Mission Statement

We are the Kent Black Action Commission (KBAC) and our mission is to improve and promote the social, economic, political, spiritual and educational conditions of the Black Community in Kent, Washington and the South King County area.
